The Gap Between the Rich and the Poor

Right now there is a huge gap between the rich and the poor. I read an article and in that article there was a man named Bob Shillman. I agree with this man's idea of the gap between the rich and the poor. He says that everybody in this country has a chance and that makes a lot of sense. Others think otherwise but people who become rich did well in school and work for it.

The gap is there because as it is stated in the article nowadays people are considered poor if they don't have a 50 in flat screen TV. With that being the case many people don't have a flat screen TV but they are able to afford a cell phone. The economy is also a factor in why people are losing money. People losing there jobs is leading them to become homeless.

I believe that it is partially the government's job to help fix the economy. This would lead to more jobs and more working people. It is also partially the common people's responsibility to try harder in school and in life. Simply work harder to be successful. This gap would be really hard to fix because it of the process of fixing the economy and not all people will put all of their effort in school and in their life.

The Gap Between Rich and Poor

The root of their problems are where their family are placed on the social-economic ladder and enthusiasm to escape that position. People from poor families are more often to become homeless. That is caused by them looking down instead of up on the class ladder. On the other hand people from rich or middle class families have resources and look up optimistically. They try to make it up the ladder.
This discussion brings up the topic of socialism ,a type of government where everyone has the same amount of money and they cant go up or down the ladder, which has been proven to be pretty much Communism. which is a better option, Communism or having a few poor people.

The Rich and the Poor

As we know it, there is a giant gap between the rich and the poor. It's still increasing today. I read this article and I totally agree with Bob Shillman. If you are homeless, how do you have a cell phone? Do you know how much a phone bill is nowadays? It's about $70-100. Who pays for that?

I think that there's a gap between the rich and the poor because of the economy. Today, a lot of people are getting cut from their jobs, causing them to go broke. The new life of living in a car with a little bit of money begins. I also believe that it's the government's job to take care of this situation. Since the government takes away a percentage of our paychecks for taxes, we should be using that money for the homeless. Either help build a homeless shelter or just give money. I totally think this can be fixed if the government chooses to use our money WISELY. A lot of people beg others to give them money, or just something to eat. A lot of them say no because they think that the person is going to waste it or give it away. Even if you give them a penny, they'll appreciate it. This is why I think that the rich and the poor should be treated the same.

The Bridging Gap Between the Rich and the Poor

I feel that they both give compelling arguments. However, I feel that the poor deserve some kind of help or lenience in their predicament. They have had it very tough while they were growing up and now in there life, so they deserve some kind of help so that they do not die while they are waiting for a way to survive in this ever changing world. Although, even though the poor deserve some kind of help, they also need to get a job. They wine about not having enough money to feed themselves and their own families. But that is because they do not have a steady income salary. This unstable income salary is due to their own fault, not wanting to work. Although, this is how some homeless people are there are homeless people who cannot work, do to either a physical or a mental disability. These are the type of people that should have help from not only the government but also helpful and wealthy people that are kind enough to help these types of people actually survive in a world such as this.

I feel that this gap happens because people are too self-centered, they do not care for people and are too money greedy, they do not want to share their riches with someone less fortunate to have the same amount of money as they do. They also sometimes think, that these people are scum because they have to beg to survive. However, some of the homeless people are homeless due to their own fault. They do not want to work, and choose to beg for money which is not only demeaning to themselves but also to people who they beg to.

It is the government and the peoples job to fix this gap. The government can assist in these people finding jobs and giving them a place to live that is cheaper than regular homes. The people can be nicer and give out more money to the homeless, and donate to charities more often. A survey was taken that said that if the 5 richest people in the world gave in half of their wealth and distributed evenly to the world poverty would be wiped away, no imagine if everyone gave all of their money in, what would happen?

Headphones

What represents me? A pair of headphones if you don't plug them in you won't hear anything. They are comfortable and very important to some people.

I made it out of clay and tooth picks. I made marks on it with a toothpick which represented some of my interests and I used about 4 packs of clay. it only took about two days to make so it wasn't that complicated.

What Represents You?

What represents you? A photo, a drawing, or just a plant? Well, my representation is a
cupcake(made from Play Doh). On the outside, it looks small and sweet, just like me. When you look at the frosting, you see colors of imagination. When you take your first bite, it's filled with happiness, just like me. You keep eating and eating(just like me), until ther's nothing left. You are filled with delight as you walk.

(A cupcake might look small and petite, but you'll never know what's on the inside, unless you take a bite.)

The Nurturing Jaguar

This picture reminds me that even if you are not related to someone you can still take care of them. I made this picture with both animals in a desperate family, hence the eye colors.

In my imagination I thought that the little jaguars home had been demolished do to human corruption destroying her home. She wandered for a while until se found another jaguar that's home had been destroyed.

She was starving and could only plead for the bigger jaguar to assist her. So she pleaded and pleaded for hours until the bigger jaguar couldn't take it anymore and promised to take care of her.

So in the scene it shows the bigger jaguar helping the her by carrying her through through the forest because she was tired.
